About Me

Born in the UK, Olivia was brought up in a bilingual household with her English mother & French father.
She was surrounded by music with her mother playing piano and father on sax & clarinet, she was
always listening to the many vinyls playing throughout her childhood.

She moved to France at a young age and pursued her love of music from then on. Joining her first band, LMTOO as lead vocalist & keyboardist at the age of 12, covering the classics ( from Deep Purple, Scorpions, to Greenday & The Police )
The band became quite popular throughout the southwest – performing to audiences of over 500 & touring groups of friendly bikers.
At the age of 15 she joined her first jazz band ‘CYFROL’ as lead vocalist & pianist, the other members were aged between 21 & 29. Through this she had the opportunity to mature as a musician, seeing the music world in a more
professional sense and as a viable future.

Olivia decided to move back to the UK at the age of 16 to pursue a career in music. She went to Alton College where she studied music, music technology, composition, jazz performance and improvisation and had the opportunity to learn from Pandi Shahov (Professor at RCM) who greatly inspired her to compose for orchestras.

In 2015 she enrolled at the University of Chichester to continue her love of Jazz. There she studied under Trudy Kerr and also took a course with Trudy and Anita Wardell, eventually going to Guildhall School of Music & Drama to expand her scatting & improvisation capabilities with Lee Gibson. After 4 years she graduated with a 1st class honours degree in Jazz Performance.

Olivia then moved to Berlin, where she explored and joined in with the modern music scene. Covid and subsequent lockdown gave her the opportunity to take up the guitar and continue composing her own music.

Olivia is now on the Isle of Wight where her career has started to take off, being recognised as an “emerging artist on the island” (Isle of Wight Radio) and performing regularly at popular venues including Monkton Arts & Northwood House. Her current projects include Muse Manouche – her Gypsy Jazz band, with music inspired by Django Reinhardt and popular French tunes. She also performs with ‘Shades of Ellington’, as a quartet, showcasing The Duke’s music in their own unique style. Through this she has united with three great musicians, including Jon Thorne (LAMB), to create MIXED MESSAGES – new jazz conceptions of pop and rock classics.

In September 2024 Olivia performed in two headline acts for the ‘Isle of Wight Jazz Festival’: the Duke Ellington Quartet at Quay Arts in Newport & Muse Manouche in the Newport Minster.
